Pricing your first listing
Start low, let the room decide
A low starting bid isn't a discount — it's what gets a lot noticed and bid on in the first place. Auction psychology rewards visible competition; a lot that opens near what you hope it sells for often gets no bids at all, because there's no reason for anyone to be the first.
Let the AI estimate do the first pass
When you leave the starting bid blank, Gemsza fills it in from an AI price estimate based on your title, description, and category — a fast, reasonable floor to start from rather than a guess. You can always override it if you know the item better than the model does.
What actually comes off a sale
Selling on Gemsza carries a flat seller commission on the hammer price — the same rate regardless of how long you've been selling or how much volume you do. There's no separate listing fee to publish a lot in the first place.
The buyer's premium isn't yours to worry about
The premium added at the buyer's checkout is separate from what you're paid — it doesn't reduce your payout, and you don't need to account for it when setting your starting bid.
Photos and description quality genuinely matter
Every listing runs through an automated quality and fraud check before going live — sharp, well-lit photos and an honest, specific description both help a listing clear that check smoothly and, just as importantly, help real bidders trust what they're looking at enough to actually bid.
