Why does Gemsza check listings with AI before they go live?
Most marketplaces only review listings after something goes wrong. We score every lot for fraud risk, duplicate content, and description quality up front, so problems are far more likely to be caught before a buyer ever bids — that's the basis for the Verified badge and the Buyer Protection Guarantee.
What's the difference between a normal bid and Buy Now?
A bid is your current offer — someone else can outbid you until the auction ends. Buy Now (where a seller has set one) ends the auction immediately at a fixed price, no waiting required.
What happens if I get outbid?
You'll get a notification immediately. If you set a proxy max bid, the system automatically re-bids for you up to your limit before notifying you that you've been outbid for good.
How does the Buyer Protection Guarantee work?
If your lot wasn't flagged for fraud, quality, or duplication at the time of sale, and the seller wasn't already flagged as high-risk, you can file a claim within 14 days of payment if the item isn't as described. Approved claims are refunded directly.
What's the buyer's premium?
It's a flat percentage added to the winning bid at checkout, on top of the price you bid — the same way most auction houses work, where the hammer price isn't the final price. Luxury Auctions carry an 8% premium; Marketplace (everyday resale) carries a lower 5%, since there's no specialist review overhead on that side to fund. Always the same rate for every lot in that zone, shown itemized before you pay, never hidden in the total.
Do sellers pay anything to sell on Gemsza?
There's never a listing fee, in either zone. On Marketplace (clothing, shoes, everyday resale), commission is 0% — forever, not a trial period. On Luxury Auctions, new sellers pay no commission for their first 3 months; after that, Gemsza takes a flat 5% commission on the hammer price to help cover running costs. The buyer's premium is separate either way and is always paid by the buyer — it's never deducted from what you receive.
